Trump Talk with the President of Taiwan, China Will Trigger Anger?

INTERNATIONAL - United States President-elect Donald Trump broke through US foreign policy that has lasted decades.

Friday (12/02/2016), Trump communicate with the Government of Taiwan, via telephone.

Trump talks with President Tsai Ing-wen is feared to trigger a rift the US and China.

"During the discussion, they talk about economic cooperation, political and security, between Taiwan and the US," according to an announcement from the management Trump, quoted by AFP.

"President-elect Trump also congratulated President Tsai after elected President of Taiwan earlier this year."

Until this news was revealed, it is unclear which party initiating the call is.

The question is whether this conversation is only one of a number of conversations with world leaders committed Trump after his victory in the elections, or mark a change in direction of US policy.

During this time, the autonomous region of China considers Taiwan part of its territory, and awaiting reunification under Beijing rule.

Thus, any US measures would imply support for the independence of Taiwan, will bring serious impacts.

Washington cut diplomatic ties with Taiwan in 1979 and recognize China as a government policy of "one China". Although during this time was the US to establish unofficial cooperation with Taipei.

Tsai refused to accept the policy of "one China", thus forcing China cut off all formal communication with the Chinese government the islands.

Tsai together with his party, DPP, took power after the collapse of the Kuomintang (KMT) in January. In fact, the KMT has better relations with Beijing.

Trump who is now based in New York, in preparation for the White House next month, has received dozens of congratulations from world leaders.

But until Thursday, the US State Department claimed Trump had never been asked for input on US foreign policy of diplomats, before making contact with the world leaders.
